Inspection. Diagnostics. Excellence.
Three structured practice areas delivering independent technical assurance across the full renewable energy project lifecycle — from manufacturing through to operating asset optimisation.
Independent Factory & Logistics Inspection for Solar Supply Chains
Qualivara's TPI practice operates as the independent quality gate between manufacturers and project sites. Our inspectors hold point-of-manufacturing positions — capturing defects, deviation from specification, and process non-conformances before they become on-site liabilities for lenders, IPPs, and EPCs.
Factory Audits
Pre-qualification and ongoing supplier assessment at module, inverter, mounting structure, and BOS component manufacturers. Evaluates production process controls, QMS maturity, equipment calibration, and conformance to contracted specifications.
During Production Inspection (DUPRO)
In-line inspection at critical manufacturing stages — cell stringing, lamination, framing, and final assembly. Captures defects while corrective action is still economically viable and before goods are consolidated for shipment.
Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI)
Final verification inspection at the point of dispatch. Confirms quantity, labelling, packing, and sampled visual/electrical performance testing against the approved specification. Issues a signed Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate.
Container Witnessing
Independent supervision of loading operations to verify correct packing, module orientation, securing, and container integrity. Provides photographic documentation and a Container Loading Report for shipping documentation.
Reliability Testing
Witnessing and coordination of accelerated reliability tests (Thermal Cycling, Damp Heat, Humidity Freeze, Hail, Mechanical Load) at accredited third-party laboratories to verify long-term performance warranty compliance.
Standard Deliverables
On-Site Technical Diagnostics for Solar Assets
Once a solar plant is commissioned, performance shortfalls are common and often systematic. Qualivara's diagnostic services identify yield-limiting defects — electrical, thermal, structural, and invisible — across operating and newly commissioned assets using field-grade instrumentation, AI-assisted imaging, and independent data analysis.
On-Site Visual Inspection
Systematic field examination of PV modules, frames, connectors, mounting structures, and balance-of-system (BOS) components. Identifies physical damage, soiling accumulation, connector degradation, structural failures, and installation non-conformances against O&M and IEC standards.
Electroluminescence (EL) Testing
AI-assisted electroluminescence imaging to detect micro-cracks, inactive cell areas, finger interruptions, and hidden cell defects invisible to visual and thermal inspection. EL testing is conducted in darkness or controlled low-light conditions and analysed using pattern recognition algorithms to classify and quantify defect severity across the array.
Current-Voltage (I-V) Curve Measurement
String-level and module-level I-V curve tracing using calibrated curve tracers to identify performance degradation, shading losses, bypass diode failures, and module mismatch. Compares measured I-V parameters against STC reference values and simulated baselines to quantify AEP loss and identify systemic vs. isolated faults.
On-Site Thermography
Infrared thermographic survey of PV modules, string combiner boxes, and inverter terminals using calibrated IRT cameras. Detects hotspot anomalies, bypass diode failures, soiling patterns, and manufacturing defects invisible to visual inspection.
Site Audits
Comprehensive independent audit of plant performance, O&M regime, inverter logs, combiner box status, monitoring data integrity, and BOS condition. Produces a structured Plant Health Report grading issues by impact severity.
Energy Yield Optimization
Data-driven analysis of irradiation data, plant SCADA/monitoring records, and soiling loss patterns to identify and quantify yield gap between modelled and actual generation. Delivers a prioritised optimisation action plan with estimated AEP recovery.
Standard Deliverables
Operational Excellence for Manufacturers, EPCs & Operators
Beyond inspection, Qualivara provides structured advisory services to help renewable energy manufacturers, EPCs, and plant operators improve operational efficiency, product quality, and cost competitiveness. Our business excellence practice applies lean, Six Sigma, and quality management disciplines in a pragmatic, results-oriented framework.
Productivity Improvement
Process mapping, bottleneck analysis, and targeted lean interventions across manufacturing and project delivery workflows. Measures throughput, cycle time, and yield — delivering implementable efficiency gains with quantified payback periods.
Quality Optimisation
Statistical process control (SPC) implementation, defect rate reduction programmes, and quality management system strengthening for manufacturers seeking to reduce scrap, rework, and warranty claim exposure.
Cost Reduction
Systematic cost engineering review across procurement, production, and logistics to identify margin improvement opportunities. Includes should-cost modelling, supplier negotiation support, and overhead reduction strategies.
Standard Deliverables
Six-Stage Solar TPI Workflow
Structured hold points at every critical phase — from Inspection & Test Plan through Pre-Shipment Certificate issuance.
